Amipro and Metagenics are proud to announce that an agreement has been reached for the acquisition by Metagenics, llc. of 100% of the shares of Amipro Advanced Development Products.
Amipro, headquartered in Johannesburg, has been the exclusive distributor of Metagenics products in South Africa for many years. This long-standing and excellent relationship has built Amipro into a highly valued partner for thousands of Healthcare Practitioners in South Africa, based on the products and Nutritional concepts of Metagenics. Amipro employs 31 people in South Africa.
Metagenics, with headquarters in Aliso Viejo, California, USA, is currently a supplier of approximately of Amipro’s product range. Metagenics llc. realizes sales of over 400 Mio USD and employs 1300 people worldwide.
For Metagenics, this acquisition is part of the strategy to have a direct presence in all major EMEA countries, and to provide effective micronutrition for health professionals to help people live healthier, happier lives worldwide.
Metagenics will continue to support and expand the activities of Amipro. Amipro has a strong and well-respected image in the South African market, which is a perfect basis for further growth and development. There will be no changes for the customers. All services and products for the prescribers and patients will remain the same, and the team of Nutritional advisors and customer support will remain fully operational.
Lorraine Leas, founder and CEO of Amipro, and Taryn de Villiers, COO, will support the transition of Amipro into the management of Metagenics as consultants, and help Metagenics to establish a firm relationship with its customers.
